THE GETTING-STARTED GUIDE

Four steps. A stronger start.

Choose the kind of Trezor you have to see setup pointers tailored to your device. You can always return to these steps as you go.

01

Check your device

BEFORE YOU CONNECT

Unbox your Trezor yourself. Check that the holographic seal and packaging look as expected for your model. A Trezor device does not arrive with a pre-written recovery wallet backup. If anything seems unusual, pause and contact official Trezor Support before continuing.

For touchscreen models, you’ll confirm setup actions on the device screen itself.

02

Connect through Trezor Suite

OFFICIAL APP ONLY

Go directly to the official Trezor website and download Trezor Suite for your computer, or use the official web app where supported. Connect your device with its USB cable and follow the on-screen instructions. Install firmware only when prompted by the official Suite app—never from a link sent by a stranger.

03

Create your wallet backup

YOUR MOST IMPORTANT STEP

Your device will show a recovery wallet backup (often called a recovery seed). Write every word in the correct order on the supplied recovery card and check it carefully. Keep it offline in a private, secure place. Anyone who gets these words can take your crypto—Trezor Support will never ask you to share them.

04

Protect access and explore

READY FOR EVERYDAY USE

Set a PIN on your Trezor when asked, then finish the prompts in Suite. Take time to learn how to receive a small test amount and verify the address on your device screen before using it. Keep your device updated through Suite, and make sure your backup remains readable and accessible only to you.

YOUR BACKUP IS THE MASTER KEY

Keep it secret.
Keep it offline.

Your recovery words are the only way to restore your wallet if your device is lost or damaged. Store them securely on paper or a suitable offline backup—never in a screenshot, cloud drive, email, or chat.

02

Never share them with anyone—not even someone claiming to be support.

03

Always verify important addresses and actions on your Trezor screen.

A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT WONDER

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Feeling unsure is normal. Take it at your own pace—there’s no rush to move funds.

Does Trezor store my crypto on the device?

Your crypto exists on its respective blockchain. Your Trezor protects the private keys that let you manage it. The device helps keep those keys isolated from an internet-connected computer.

What if I lose my Trezor or it stops working?

You can restore access using your recovery wallet backup on a compatible wallet device. This is why keeping your words private, secure, and legible matters. Never share them with anyone offering to help you restore access.

Will Trezor Support ever ask for my recovery words?

No. Never share your recovery words or type them into a website or computer. If a person or page asks for them, stop. Reach Trezor Support by navigating to the official website yourself.

Where should I go if something doesn’t look right?

Pause setup and open the official Trezor Support website directly. Avoid search ads, unsolicited messages, and links from strangers when looking for help.
